How We Write Dispatches

Every dispatch follows the same documented process. This page sets it out so you can judge the work and see where its facts come from.

How do we choose topics?

From search demand data. We look at what crypto players actually search for about verification, transfers, wallets and privacy, and write the dispatch that answers it from the source texts. Each dispatch belongs to one lane, so the site builds a complete account of each subject over time.

Which sources do we rely on?

Privacy and verification rules are written down, and so are the protocols. We go to the documents:

  • Regulations and statutes. FATF recommendations and guidance, US rules such as the Bank Secrecy Act regulations in 31 CFR, and EU law such as Regulation (EU) 2023/1113 and the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation.
  • Licence conditions. The texts gambling regulators publish on AML duties, thresholds and verification for their licensees.
  • Regulator guidance and enforcement. Published guidance, notices and enforcement actions where they show how a rule is applied.
  • Protocol specifications. Bitcoin Improvement Proposals, Ethereum Improvement Proposals and the documentation and papers behind each privacy design.
  • Operator and provider terms. What a casino, exchange or wallet says it does, in its own published terms.
  • Official statistics. Where a dispatch needs a number and an official source publishes it.

Sources are listed under each dispatch, and links sit on the claims they support.

How are dispatches written and checked?

Dispatches are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, working only from the sources gathered for that dispatch. Before publication, automated checks test each draft for sourcing, links and figures: every figure must trace to a cited source, links must resolve, and a draft that fails is held back. We do not claim that a lawyer or other human expert has reviewed each dispatch, and we do not test casinos, exchanges or wallets, make deposits or run withdrawals for a story.

What are the limits of a dispatch?

Rules, thresholds and operator terms change. A dispatch describes the texts as published when it was written or last updated. It is an explanation, not legal advice, and the current official text always prevails.

How do corrections work?

If a dispatch misstates a rule, a threshold or how a protocol works, tell us through our contact form and cite the provision or specification if you can. We check it against the primary source and fix it if it is wrong. A dispatch corrected in substance shows its update date.

How are dispatches updated?

We revisit dispatches when a regulation, a licence condition or a protocol changes, or when the facts they rely on go stale. The update date on each page shows when that last happened.
